TO ALL MEMBERS,
Just a reminder that this Sunday, 27th. April we are hosting a Memorial for one of our past Life Members. Warren (Noddy) Harding.
Noddy was a player at Dingley starting in the mid 1960’s. He eventually turned his hand to coaching once retiring from playing. He tried to control a group of young boys he affectionately called “his nasty little men”. Noddy and his team where successful with Premierships in the mid 1980’s. Some of these nasty little men are still playing at Dingley today, having tasted Premiership glory at the highest level, some are now Life Members themselves.
He then became an Umpire for the D.B.A. always trying to help out somewhere, over summer he turned his hand to cricket Umpiring.
This is an absolute testament to the man and shows his integrity and character as a person.
One of Noddy’s last wishes was to have his ashes spread along the 1st. Base line at the Dingley ground. He also requested that as many Dingley past and current people from the Club be in attendance to see him off, thats the type of man he was, friends with everyone he met. This Memorial will take place between the A2 and A1 games at approx. 2pm.
Noddy’s family would like to see as many people there as possible. Please make an effort and come along whether you knew him or not, as this is something special.
Kind Regards
Peter (hector) Crawford
